About us
Last updated
13k.eu is an independent publication about artificial intelligence and computing: AI assistants and their prices, APIs, agents, running models on your own hardware, and the rules that apply to AI. We explain what AI tools cost, what they need and what they can do, with every figure linked to its source and dated, so you can decide without having to trust our word.
Why this site exists
Much of what is written about AI is out of date within months, rarely cites a source and is often published by the companies selling the product. We want the opposite: prices taken from the vendor's own page with the date we checked them, specs from official documentation and model cards, rules from the legal text itself, and calculators whose formulas you can read.
What we do and do not do
- We check prices, limits and specifications against primary sources and say on every guide what we checked and what may change.
- We build free calculators, such as the VRAM calculator and the LLM API cost calculator, and test their formulas against real data.
- We do not sell AI products, and vendors cannot pay to be included, excluded or ranked.
- We say clearly when we have not tested something hands-on. Until we have a documented test, we do not publish quality rankings or "best overall" awards.
- We do not invent experience, credentials or user reviews.
Who is behind the site
13k.eu is published by [Pending: owner's full name or company name]. We are a small project and would rather say so than invent a team. How we work, including how we use AI tools for research and drafting, is in our editorial policy.
How the site is funded
The site may show advertising and, in the future, use affiliate links. Both are always labeled and neither influences what we write or how we compare products. Details are in our advertising disclosure.
