Short answer

Gemini pricing on October 14, 2026: the Gemini app is free, Google's Plus plan costs $4.99 a month (2x the free usage, 400 GB), Google's Pro plan $19.99 (4x, Gemini 4 Argon, 5 TB) and Google's Ultra plan $99.99 or $199.99 (5x or 20x Pro, from 20 TB). In Spain: €4.99, €21.99 and €99.99 or €219.99. Limits are compute-based and refresh every 5 hours up to a weekly cap, and since October 9 free users get Auto model selection, mostly Flash-Lite.

Prices and limits change often: check the vendor's page before you pay. How we make money.

Gemini pricing is simpler than it looks once you separate the app from everything Google bundles with it. There are four plans for the Gemini app on a personal Google Account: Free, Google's Plus plan, Google's Pro plan and Google's Ultra plan. Each paid plan raises your usage limits and adds storage and Google services such as Flow, Jules and YouTube. This guide lists the prices on Google's US and Spain pages as of October 14, 2026, what each plan adds, how the usage limits actually work since Google changed them this year, and which plan fits which person. If you want to build with Gemini in code, the API is billed separately: see our Gemini API pricing guide.

Gemini prices at a glance

Table: Google's Gemini plans for the Gemini app (Google's plans pages, checked October 14, 2026)

Plan United States Spain Usage in the Gemini app Cloud storage
Free $0 €0 Standard limits 15 GB
Plus $4.99 a month €4.99 a month 2x Free 400 GB
Pro $19.99 a month €21.99 a month 4x Free 5 TB
Ultra (5x) $99.99 a month €99.99 a month 5x Pro From 20 TB
Ultra (20x) $199.99 a month €219.99 a month 20x Pro From 20 TB

Google says its Gemini plans are only available to people aged 18 and over, and Google's Plus plan and Google's Pro plan are each sold in more than 150 countries and territories. The Ultra price depends on which of the two usage levels you pick; the plan card shows "starting at" the lower one.

What each Gemini plan includes

  • Free: the Gemini app, limited access to Google Flow (Google's video and image studio, including limited Nano Banana Pro), Gemini Notebook and 15 GB of storage across Gmail, Drive and Photos.
  • Google's Plus plan ($4.99): twice the Free usage, access to the Flash model, video generation and Daily Brief, 200 Flow credits, more Nano Banana in Search, Gemini inside Gmail and Vids, and 400 GB.
  • Google's Pro plan ($19.99): four times the Free usage, Gemini 4 Argon, the Pro and Flash models, 1,000 Flow credits, higher limits for the Jules coding agent, entry limits in Google Antigravity, Gemini in Gmail, Docs and Vids, Gemini in Chrome with auto browse, Google Home Premium (Standard), YouTube Premium Lite and 5 TB.
  • Google's Ultra plan (from $99.99): five or twenty times the Pro plan's usage, first access to features such as Tasks in Gemini, 10,000 or 25,000 Flow credits, the highest Jules and Antigravity limits, Project Genie, Google Home Premium (Advanced), a YouTube Premium individual plan and storage from 20 TB.

One inconsistency worth knowing: on October 14 the plan cards list Gemini 4 Argon for Google's Pro plan and Ultra, while the FAQ and page title on the same page still talk about Gemini 3.1 Pro. We report what the plan cards say.

How Gemini usage limits work now

Google no longer counts a fixed number of prompts. Since May 17, 2026 (July 24 for users under 18), the Gemini app uses "compute-based usage limits that will refresh every 5 hours until you reach your weekly limit". What counts is the complexity of your prompt, the features you use and the length of the chat. Media generation, Deep Research, the Pro model, extended thinking and Deep Think use your allowance faster. You can choose a low, medium or high effort level for each model, and higher effort uses more of the limit. Google also lets you buy extra credits to extend a limit.

The free plan changed again in October. From October 9, 2026, people without a plan get Auto model selection by default: "most prompts will go to Flash-Lite, our fastest model", and prompts that need more reasoning "may go to Flash or Pro". If you turn smart model selection off, every free response uses Flash-Lite. Google's Plus plan subscribers are being told by email when the change reaches them.

This is the real difference between the tiers: not features you cannot use at all, but how often you can use the expensive ones before you hit the 5-hour or weekly ceiling.

Gemini against ChatGPT and Claude on price

At the $20 level the three big assistants cost about the same in the US. Google's Pro plan is $19.99 a month, ChatGPT Plus $20 and Claude Pro $20 monthly or $17 a month paid yearly. Gemini's case at that price is the bundle: 5 TB of storage, YouTube Premium Lite and Gemini inside Gmail and Docs. In Spain the gap is wider in Google's favor at the low end, because Google's Plus plan costs €4.99. Our comparisons of ChatGPT vs Gemini and Claude vs Gemini go through what you get beyond the price, and our guides to ChatGPT pricing and Claude pricing list their plans in full.

Two things to check before paying. First, privacy: Google's Gemini Apps Privacy Hub says that with Keep Activity on, your chats help develop and improve its services, including training generative models, with help from human reviewers. Second, the account: Google says you also need "a personal Google Account that you manage on your own" for Google's Pro plan and Ultra.

Which Gemini plan should you choose?

  • Occasional questions and help with writing: Free. Since October most answers come from Flash-Lite, which is fine for everyday tasks.
  • You hit the free limit or want more storage: Google's Plus plan at $4.99 doubles the usage and gives you 400 GB. It is the cheapest paid plan among the assistants we cover: ChatGPT Go costs €8 in Spain and Microsoft 365 Personal $9.99 in the US.
  • You want the Pro model, Deep Research and Gemini in Docs: Google's Pro plan. If you already pay for Google One storage or YouTube Premium Lite, the effective price is lower.
  • You make video with Flow every day or need the highest limits: Google's Ultra plan, starting with the 5x level at $99.99 before considering 20x.

If you are comparing Gemini with Microsoft's assistant inside Office, our Microsoft Copilot pricing guide has the equivalent table.

Frequently asked questions

Is Gemini free?

Yes. The Gemini app is free with a Google Account, with standard usage limits, 15 GB of storage and limited Google Flow. Since October 9, 2026 free users get Auto model selection, which sends most prompts to Flash-Lite and harder ones to Flash or Pro.

How much is Google's Pro plan?

$19.99 a month in the United States and €21.99 a month in Spain on October 14, 2026. It gives four times the free usage, Gemini 4 Argon and the Pro model, Gemini in Gmail and Docs, YouTube Premium Lite and 5 TB of storage.

What happened to Gemini Advanced?

Google's current plans page does not use that name. The paid tiers for the Gemini app are Google's Plus plan, Google's Pro plan and Google's Ultra plan, and the Pro plan is the one at the familiar $19.99 a month in the US.

How do Gemini usage limits work?

They are compute-based: the complexity of the prompt, the features used and the chat length all count. The limit refreshes every 5 hours until you reach a weekly limit. Google's Plus plan doubles the free limits, Google's Pro plan quadruples them and Ultra gives 5x or 20x Pro.

Is Google's Ultra plan worth it?

Only if you hit the Pro plan's limits often or use Flow and video generation daily. Ultra costs $99.99 a month for 5x the Pro plan's usage or $199.99 for 20x, and adds Project Genie, YouTube Premium and storage from 20 TB.
